The Hope of Jabez
Suboxone, when taken appropriately, is a drug that attaches to receptors in the brain, preventing other drugs from giving you the same high you used to get. It will last for a day.
Suboxone also prevents withdrawal symptoms while you try to get clean from the drugs you have been taking. Usual dose is once or twice a day. The need to use more has not shown to be any more effective and as such, I rarely prescribe more than two a day.
Think of this program as a four legged stool. You can sit on this stool without falling off, but lose one of the legs and it is very difficult to balance.
The Legs of this stool are as follows:
You: You make all your appointments, take your medicine as prescribed, and are compliant with the rules set down. This is a solid leg.
Our Counselor: He will help you develop the tools you will need to be successful in your desire to clean up. Day to day stressors will not go away, but your ability to cope with them will be developed by you. It is recommended that you attend AA or NA as a support group to enhance these abilities
Doctor: As your provider, we will encourage you, monitor your treatment progress, suggest changes where appropriate, help with anxiety issues and sleep issues and any initial withdrawal symptoms to enable you to succeed in your efforts to improve the quality of your life.
The fourth and most important leg of this stool is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that a personal relationship with the Creator of the Universe, who loves you and desires to see you succeed, is the greatest key to success. We would love to share our thoughts with you.
We will help you in any way we can, for you to be a successful in this program.
You have chosen to try to clean up your life, and with help, you will succeed.
Don’t be discouraged if there are bumps in the road. You didn’t get here by making good choices in your life, and can’t be expected to instantaneously change the direction of your life. It will take some time.
Let us know where there are problems with your progress or family and social issues. We might be able to look for solutions with you.
